I ended up going to see a local artist perform tonight. She has this really interesting sound which she mixes with French lyrics. I couldn’t stay for her whole set, but the songs I did hear/watch her perform with her guitarist friend were awesome. I wish I had better photos, but I didn’t want to distract anyone with the flash.

Being the geek that I am, I took a picture of a new gadget I got at work. My boss came in this afternoon with a USB 2.0 hub so that I can plug in my iPod, jump drive, and any other device that uses a USB port all into one place. No more reaching back behind my computer every day to take advantage of the 2.0 ports for my iPod! Plus it lights up with pretty colors!

I had a craving for my shredded beef tacos after yoga today…and I had some leftover rice-a-roni. A half hour in the kitchen for preparation and cooking produced this lovely meal! The lettuce looks like it is smothering the beef….and the melted cheese. Poor things.

I went with some friends to see the first “Indiana Jones” movie at a theatre downtown. It was a pretty cool experience since I’ve never seen that movie before. (Yes, I know it’s a classic!) It was even cooler to see it in this old theatre that was redone recently. We sat behind the technician area (hence the second photo), but I don’t think anyone was working down there that night. They even served beer and wine…but I chose the $2.50 bottle of water instead.

What else would I do in my free time….aside from sitting in front of the computer? Put my hamster on my shoulder and see how long she can balance! Ha.

Apparently there is still some snow on the Catalina Mountains. I took a photo when I was out grocery shopping with my mom. See the white specks? Yeah, that’s residual snow from last Sunday/Monday.

This is one of the signs in a walkway at the university. I find it amusing how golf carts are a regular mode of transportation for people who work for some departments, and for students/staff/faculty to get rides around campus if they are injured or disabled.

Dogs! With the pet eyes! I can’t seem to get rid of them (the reflection of the flash on the eyes, not the dogs themselves). I even tried out different settings on my camera. Maybe more light in the room… I’m sure I could fix it using Paint Shop Pro…but that takes effort. At least they still look cute, all relaxed on their pillows before bedtime.

So I got this cage extension from my cousins…and my hamster seems to like to chew on the bars. It took her a while to get used to the levels, but I hope this makes her less restless! I really hope she doesn’t find a way to escape though. I’d rather not go through that trauma again.

A rare event in my city - snow! We apparently haven’t had any measurable snow in town since January 2002. I took the opportunity to take some pictures on campus this morning. Regarding the last picture, my co-worker wondered if you could make frozen orange juice from that tree. Ha.

It was a really cold weekend so we decided to put my sister’s old sweatshirt on our beagle. He was really cold…and now he looks a bit gangster. Word.

We had a huge family dinner Saturday night. I couldn’t quite get a good shot of the wine I had, but you can definitely see the bread we ate before our main course came out.

It actually snowed today! It usually only snows in the mountains where I live, but our whole city got to see the white flakes fall from the sky. It was quite the challenge getting shots of the snow as the sun was setting, but I managed to take these.

So I went to dinner with some friends tonight. Delicious steakhouse. We were getting a bit bored by the end of the evening, so my friend Carrie started to play with the condiments…and this is the result. What can you identify?
